Crime and Your Community
Introduction
Crimestoppers Youth Strategy is focused on delivering relevant
projects for young people in order to aid in the reduction of levels
of youth crime and victimisation.
Crimestoppers have heard from youth workers and teachers that young people are highly resistant to telling what they know about crime. Therefore our projects aim to challenge attitudes about ‘grassing’, promoting why and when it is important to share information, who they can talk to and the options that are open to them.
Crime and Your Community: Volume 1
This Resource has been produced by the charity Crimestoppers specifically for youth workers to stimulate discussions around crimes that are relevant to the young people that they work with.
Crimestoppers is an independent UK charity that operates the anonymous 0800 555 111 for anyone with information about crime who for whatever reason do not want to go to the police.
Hopefully you will find this resource useful ad where relevant discuss the option of Crimestoppers with your young people, how it works and whether they feel it is something that one day could be of use to them.
